About the author:
J.M. McKenzie is a new author based in Birmingham, UK. She was born in Lanark, Scotland in 1958 and always wanted to be a writer but was guided in a different direction by parents and teachers. J.M. has only started writing seriously in the last few years after a long career in healthcare. She is a member of a local Writers Group who have jointly published several anthologies of their flash fiction homework in the Words Don’t Come Easy series between 2017 and 2020. She completed a Creative Writing Course with The Writers Bureau in 2018. In 2019 J.M. published her first short story, Puschkinia, on Kindle Direct. J.M. published her first novel, Wait for Me, in January 2021. Wait for Me is the story of an ordinary woman’s extraordinary journey to get home to her husband in the midst of a Zombie Apocalypse.
Wait For Me:
Lisa is on a train, 20 miles from home, when the United Kingdom is hit by a terrifying bioterrorist attack, and a national emergency is declared.
After she was separated from her husband, Neil, in the hours following the September 11th attack, she made him promise that, in the event of a similar crisis, their priority should be to go home and wait for each other there.
Keeping her promise, and trusting Neil to keep his, she sets out on what she believes will be a quick and easy journey. But the world she once knew has changed forever and has become deadly and unpredictable.
Will she make it back home to Neil? Will he be there? Will he wait for her?
